About Heaven and Hell
A very aggressive and combative samurai once asked a zen priest to explain to him what heaven is. And what hell is.
The wise priest replied scornfully: “You are nothing but a bully, I do not waste my time with the likes of you.”
The samurai felt insulted and disrespected. He tore his sword from its sheath and yelled at the priest: “You will die for your disrespect!”
“That”, the priest said laid-back, “is hell.”
Astounded by the realization of the truth in what the priest said about the anger he just witnessed, the samurai calmed down.
He put his sword back in its sheath, bowed down to the priest and thanked him for the insight.
“And that”, the priest said, “is the heaven.”
